Has published many investigations in the field of Refractive
surgery (LASIK, PRK, ...) and external diseases of the
eye.
His major achievements include:
Introduced a useful formula to calculate the intraocular
lens power for cataract surgery in eyes who underwent
LASIK surgery, presented at the 2001 Meeting of the
Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology
(ARVO), in May 2001, Florida, USA, and at the Pan
Arab African Congress of Ophthalmology (p AACO) meeting
in Beirut, Lebanon, on April 2001) and published in
Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science (IOVS)
journal.
The first to report the safety and efficacy ofLASIK
surgery in human eyes with healed infected herpetic
keratitis.
The first to report the reactivation ofHerpes zoster
virus following LASIK surgery.
