Consultant ophthalmologist at
The Eye Center since February 2003. He is in charge of
Comprehensive Ophthalmology with special interest in
Uveitis and Anterior Segment Diseases & Surgery.
He obtained his MD & completed his
ophthalmology training at the American University of
Beirut (AUB) in 1995. He was on the Dean’s honor list 3
times. During his residency, he completed some foreign
training programs including one with Mr. J.P.Lee in
Pediatric Ophthalmology, Neonatal Ophthalmology,
strabismus surgery & Botulinum toxin at The Moorfields
Eye Hospital in London on February-March of 1994, and at
Houston Eye Associates with Malcolm Mazow and
H.M.Hittner at the University of Texas-Herman Eye Center
on Jan-Feb 1995. Later, during his practice he
participated in an exchange program between Makassed
Hospital and the Center Hospitalier Regional de Lille,
at Lille France. He pursued a private practice as
consultant ophthalmologist in his hometown,
Beirut-Lebanon, at Makassed General Hospital where he
had a major contribution in the foundation of its
ophthalmology department on modern basis. He was
instructor and theses director at The Industrial &
Technical Institute, Optometry Department, Lebanon.
2001-2002. He is member of the Lebanese Ophthalmologic
Society and the Saudi Ophthalmology Society and ARVO. He
speaks fluent Arabic, English and French with some
Spanish.
